Great Depression Census to be Vital Reading

I can't wait for the 1940 Census to be made public. The Associated Press says it's the first time the secrets of this vital document that covered the Great Depression will be unlocked. Like any good sleuth (and snoop), I'm agog to get the inside story on what has up to now been shrouded in conjecture, hearsay and personal spin. This by-the-numbers look will likely unseat some rumors and long-cherished myths about how the Depression played out in daily life. Like PBS "Finding Your Roots" host Henry Louis Gates Jr. says, the 1940 Census is a treasure trove for genealogy lovers.
